My work deftly outruns the weight of inertia. I refuse stasis and welcome the morphing evolution of theoretical concerns and varying forms of execution. My stylistic signature is the application of textural relief to articulate fine detail whether illustrative or abstracted. The majority of my work over the years has been in the form of paintings but the work maintains a non-traditional edge of experimentation. Exhibitions often feature complimentary installation elements, sculpture and sound to enhance the conceptual basis of the paintings presented. An allegorical and immersive experience is what I strive for in all my solo exhibitions.
Over the past couple of years, my efforts have focused on excavating spiritual contemplation from the detritus of urban observation. Source material has been gleaned from layers of shredded street and subway promotional posters. These organic readymade abstractions get reconfigured, edited and orchestrated as multi-paneled paintings, ceramic reliefs and hand-carved wood idols. With my work, I attempt to pause and capture spiritual fragments of our increasingly accelerated culture while the masses pass by idly staring into their smart phones
Come witness the controlled chaos of the studio. The work is always better experienced in person.
